Become a Foster
Being a foster for Ruthless Kindness means being on-call for people in crisis situations who need a place for their pets to stay while they get back on their feet. We don’t always know the exact length of the foster stay, and things may change unexpectedly due to the nature of the circumstances, so we need fosters who are understanding and want to make a huge difference in both animal and human lives.
We mostly need fosters for dogs and cats, but birds, exotics, farm animals, rabbits, and other species are occasionally needed. We also need "day fosters", people who are willing to watch animals only during the day. This allows clients to attend job interviews, court, therapy or other important needs. We need fosters who live in Sonoma County, Napa County, Marin County, the SF Bay area, or are willing to travel to this area to pick up their foster animal(s).

Legacy Planning:
Making Charitable Donations Through an Estate
Most people leave the bulk of their property through wills and/or living trusts. Both are simple to create. In order to name a charity among the beneficiaries, the donor simply states:
- the nonprofit's full legal name and location (for clarity, it helps to include the tax ID number, but this isn't required)
the nature of the gift (for example, cash or property), and if the donor wishes, restrictions on what the organization can do with the gift. - It's even simpler for a donor to name a nonprofit organization as the beneficiary of property such as a bank account, life insurance policy, or retirement plan. The bank or other company usually provides a form for the donor to use.
For Ruthless Kindness, our organization's legal name is Ruthless Kindness, and our tax ID is 84-2838142.
Please think of us when you put together your estate planning. If you are interested in leaving a legacy of hope for people and animals via bequest, contact your attorney or us to find out more by sending an email to info@ruthlesskindness.org

Group volunteering:
We occasionally have group projects on our small farm, like rebuilding a fence or chicken coop. If you have a group that would like to help, reach out to info@ruthlesskindness.org
Donate property:
Safe emergency housing for victims of domestic violence with pets is a life-saving need that is not sufficiently available. We need to expand housing options for victims needing safety. We also need property to offer various programs such as animal-assisted empathy education. If you would like to donate a home or property, receiving a tax-deduction from our 501c3 organization and well as capital gains adjustment, please reach out to us at info@ruthlesskindness.org.
